AS-01ASI Switch |
The ASI Switch AS-01 can operate in two different ways: as a switch or as a selector.
The Switch mode is used in networks with redundancy, for example in sites where a spare signal is available (satellite or fiber). Signals need to be connected at the input with a decreasing priority from A to C.
In case one of the inputs does not respect the stream identification parameters, automatically the following signal will be enabled in the output, guaranteeing the presence of the signal in the backbone.
It is possible to set up some parameters that identify unequivocally the stream at the input. These parameters are 2 PID (Program IDentifier) to be searched between the programs present in the ASI input stream, the logical combination of the 2 PID (OR, AND, UP TO, NAND) and the time interval between 0,1 to 1.5 seconds during which the presence or lack in the input stream of the selected parameters is verified.
The Selector mode, useful together with a remote control unit of the equipment, allows to select for the output one of the input signals, disabling the functions of the switch (recognising of the PID, input priority).
The programming of the functions and the monitoring of the parameters can be done through the keyboard, through the LCD front panel or through an RS-485 interface.
